INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • Typically, two rounds.
  • Can be a third one based on role/candidate.
  • Some roles require having two round of interviews on-site .
  • Some roles require having one round on-site, and one round virtual .



BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS

  • Must clear criminal checks .
  • Must provide three professional references from current/previous employers .



SALARY + PERKS

  • Competitive Salary.
    • Salary paid out bi-weekly.
  • Bonus
    • Parent company's profit sharing after 2 years of employment.
    • Client has their own in-house profit sharing after their 3 months probationary period.
    • Where 2% of the profit is shared with all employees.
    • Client's bonus is paid out quarterly.
  • Typically, starting vacation time is two weeks.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Supports all human resources programs such as compensation and benefits, employee or labour relations, performance management, training and development and staffing and recruitment.
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and/or resolves potential grievances.
  • Counsel employees on work-related and personal issues.



QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Attributes:
* Post-secondary education in Human Resources (Diploma or Degree)
* 2- 4 years' experience working as an HR Coordinator or HR Generalist
* Familiar with Employment Standards Act along with Federal and Provincial legislation related to employment
* Experience working with HRIS systems, Workday preferred, PeopleSoft also an asset
* Demonstrated ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality
* Ability to display tact, diplomacy, and patience at all times
* Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization and work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
* Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills
* Driven and goal orientated with high initiative
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines
* Ability to take ownership of duties and responsibilities
* Resourceful logical thinker and process-oriented with excellent attention to detail
* In-depth experience of Microsoft Office , including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Ability to travel within Ontario region (less than 10%).
* Ability to be able to work an early shift once per week to support night shift team members.

DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
* CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset.
* Familiar with ADP WorkforceNow Payroll software.
* Ability to work well without supervision and collaborate with the team.
* Familiarity with wage and benefits total compensation .
* Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset.
* Automotive manufacturing experience.
* Previous Magna Experience.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Recruits, participates, and coordinates the screening, interviewing and hiring process for all levels of employment
* Updates job description process as required
* Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as but not limited to; various leave of absences, layoffs, vacation requests and attendance
* Produce and or provide HR metrics to management on a monthly basis's that include but not limited to; employee turnover, performance appraisal status, internal promotions, wages and training
* Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees and build employee relations through activities such as walk the plant floor
* Champion the performance appraisal program by supporting department managers with distributing and monitoring PA's statuses, training records and when approved, assist with organizing training when identified
* Coordinate and administer employee training and development by updating training matrix and HRIS regularly, adhering to IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 procedures.
* Assist in the development and implementation of new programs, Employee Opinion Survey, Service Award and other HR functions/Action plans.
* Assists and monitors short-term and long-term disability cases alongside working with head office to resolve more challenging cases
* With support of the HR Manager and HSE specialist, create and communicate return to work programs
* Assist the HSE Specialist with providing WSIB details required for claims
* Work in partnership with the HSE Specialist and HR Manager to assist in driving a health and safety culture
* Maintain Open Door Policy and investigate employee concerns or complains brought forward
* Ensures that Mytox complies with provincial and federal regulations concerning employment
* Establish and maintain constructive communication and effective working relationships with management and employees
* Assist the HR Manager with MAFACT requirements
* Interprets and comply with relevant legislation (Employment Standard Act and Human Rights Code)
* Plans and coordinates monthly and annual company social events
* Create and maintain accurate employee and training files
* Assists as liaison between employment agencies and company to manage temporary staffing needs
* Assists in producing weekly time sheet reports to agencies
* Source and assist in scheduling forklift driver evaluations and place accordingly (temp and perm)
* Verifies and maintains records relating to the Employee Benefits Plan
* Conduct exit interviews when required
* Manages employee retirement process
* Assists employees with DPSP and RSP activities
* Assist with the administration of DPSP
* Upholds the Magna Charter, Constitution, Operating Principles and all procedures and policies in the Employee Handbook
* Is familiar with IATF 16949 procedures related to HR Department
* Adheres to all client's safety rules and regulations
* Perform other special projects, as assigned or any reasonable request by management
* Performs all job functions abiding by the office/work standards, policies and procedures as outlines in the company handbook.
* Performs all job functions in alignment with IATF 16949 quality management standards and ISO 14001
* Has a work phone and required to take calls and/or work after hours occasionally
* Actively participates in continuous improvement projects. Identify gaps, offer solutions and implement improvements
* Maintain and drive 5S standards in working environment
* Attend training based on client's internal training matrix
* Performs all job functions in a safe, healthful and environmentally conscious manner, abiding by all health, safety and environment rules and regulations as outlined in the company handbook
* Performs other duties as assigned or any reasonable request by the HR Manager and/or Upper Management.

* Predominantly an office environment (climate controlled)
* Walking the plant floor to develop employee relations and wears required PPE (no climate control)
