CAD Mechanical Designer

Position:
Mechanical CAD designer
Job Summary:

Work in close contact with engineering product design and process team
Design a wide variety of Residential HVAC systems including fan coil and water source heat pump units
Create 3D system design, 2D manufacturing drawings, create bill of materials
Create engineering specification documents such as submittal sheets, air flow configurations, floor plans, etc.
Assists in development of installation and operation manuals, service documents and manufacturing work instructions.
Participate in ECR (Engineering change request) and ECN (Engineering change notice) process.
Manage multiple projects at a time.
Construct prototypes and participate in engineering design review of new and existing products.
Participate in and oversee QA/QC processes for your and the work of others
Follow safe work practices and utilized PPE.


Required Qualifications:

~4 or more years of relevant experience in design/ construction of HVAC systems
~4 or more years of experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor modeling
~ Exhibit proficiency in MS Office software
~ Experience with sheet metal design and copper tubing is considered an asset
~ HVAC product development experience is considered a strong asset.
~ Hands-on mechanical aptitude is a crucial skill for this role.
~ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
~ Ability to work individually and within a team
~ Attention to detail
~ Project Management


Education
~ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
