These are full-time, in-office opportunities.ABOUT THE ROLEWe’re looking for an experienced SRE who possesses a strong understanding of how to leverage SRE best practices. As a critical member of our Engineering team, the ideal candidate will combine engineering experience, an innate drive to improve existing systems and processes, and the creativity to develop novel solutions to evolving challenges. You’ll be responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of Jotform’s Enterprise systems.Here’s what you will be doingCollaborate with software developers to design solutions for hosting and maintaining custom business applications in Google Cloud and AWS.Work closely with product owners to troubleshoot and resolve issues when CI/CD deployment pipelines fail or monitoring systems indicate performance degradation.Contribute to ongoing efforts to develop standardized and compliant infrastructure services.Participate in a morning stand-up or team meeting to report your accomplishments, plans for the day, and any roadblocks you encountered. Your team will do the same, giving you an opportunity to understand and contribute to other ongoing initiatives.Research and present new ideas to continuously improve our enterprise hosting services.Education/Work Experience/Technical RequirementsExpert knowledge of Linux/Unix variants, especially Ubuntu and its derivatives, including best practices for deploying applicationsExperience with Google Cloud services (examples include commonly used services such as Compute Engine, Cloud LB, and Cloud SQL)Experience with infrastructure as code and automation/configuration management using PuppetThe ability to use a wide variety of technologies, including hosting services, continuous deployment and continuous integration services, code repositories, and security vulnerability identification tools to support our cloud infrastructure (examples include GCE, PHP, MySQL, Nginx, Gearmand, Docker, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins)Good understanding of programming languages like PHP, Python, and/or GoExperience analyzing solutions components, understanding systems integration challenges, and identifying technology gaps in current components that must be resolved to reach future performance targets and functionality requirements in cloud infrastructureAdvanced automated script design, coding, debugging, and maintenance skills (using Bash, Python, etc.)Experience with HIPAA/PCI compliancePersonal Characteristics/SkillsResilience when things go wrong and persistence to find solutionsEffective while working independently within a distributed team across multiple regionsExcellent communication skills (written, verbal, and virtual)Self-motivated, logical, and detail-orientedPassionate about new technologies, software, and processesAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines is essentialOUR PROCESSWe’ll review your application along with all the others we receive and pick the top profiles for a screening call.
