Do you have 10+ years experience in the live event , motion picture and/or performing arts industry? Have you been leading a team and managing budgets for at least 3-5+ years? Do you like the thought of overseeing not-for-profit programs, services and strategic initiatives with a wide scope of influence to support an entire industry and its workforce?
Actsafe Safety Association has a mission of preventing workplace injuries, illness and deaths in BC's arts and entertainment industry and recently launched a new five-year strategic plan (2023–2027). We are recruiting for the vital role of Director Industry Programs & Services charged with ensuring our programs and services are world-class, industry-specific, and improve health, safety, and wellbeing knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviours in both employers and workers. The position oversees two departments - Education & Training and Safety Services - and manages 5+ high-performing team members, including safety professionals, an adult education specialist, and several customer service administrative professionals.
We are looking for an experienced leader, with a deep understanding of the BC arts and entertainment industry, excellent stakeholder relations abilities and foundational business acumen.

It is not crucial to have subject matter expertise in safety, nor in adult education; Education in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Occupational Health & Safety, Provincial Instructor’s Diploma, or CRSP designation is considered an asset.
An 8-hour workday/40-hour workweek (including paid lunch breaks)
