Position: Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer/Technologist
We have a deep connection to Canada’s forest lands and sustainability. GreenFirst is looking for an Engineer/Technologist to provide electrical/instrumentation Engineering and Maintenance support, develop/improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshoot operational problems, perform detailed failure analysis, and find solutions for repetitive failures.
Work collaboratively with Planners, Supervisors and other members of the Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Report to Engineering Supervisor.
• Perform detailed failure analysis reports as a result of equipment failure and implement recommendations of the analysis to all related equipment.
• Provide a strong technical support for troubleshooting operational and equipment problems and take a leadership role in resolving electrical/instrumentation related issues.
• Manage and lead projects and studies assigned, and provide project assistance as required, with a focus on achieving the lowest possible costs.
• Ensure projects deliver the desired benefits while meeting budgets, delivering the desired process functionality and respecting project schedules.
• Manage projects so they comply with all guidelines, regulations and laws regarding safety and the environment.
• Follow internal procedures and controls for engineering and construction activities (including funding) and provide sound documentation for use in future maintenance and operating projects and plans.
• Prepare and complete capital expenditure projects in conformance with CPA guidelines and controls.
• Provide technical assistance to the CPA/RPA engineering team for installations in areas of accountability, assist in the selection of installed equipment, and provide required spare parts acquisition.
• Accountable within a framework for the development and implementation of the Newsmill’s 5-Year Operating Plan utilizing the CPA and RPA processes to achieve targets.
• Ensure the proper maintenance of engineering files, equipment, and procedures.
• Recommend changes/improvements to the maintenance management system and standards to the Engineering Supervisor.
Education: University Degree in Electrical Engineering, College Diploma may be considered.
• Professional Certification: Professional Engineer / OIQ an asset
• Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
• Bilingualism: French and English an asset

• Suivre les procédures et les contrôles internes pour les activités d’ingénierie et de construction (y compris le financement) et fournir une documentation solide à utiliser dans les futurs projets et plans d’entretien et d’exploitation.
• Préparer et mener à bien les projets de dépenses d’investissement conformément aux lignes directrices et aux contrôles de l’ACP.
• Fournir une assistance technique à l’équipe d’ingénieurs du CPA/RPA pour les installations dans les domaines de responsabilité, contribuer à la sélection des équipements installés et assurer l’acquisition des pièces de rechange nécessaires.
• Veiller à la bonne tenue des dossiers, de l’équipement et des procédures d’ingénierie.
• Recommander au superviseur de l’ingénierie des modifications/améliorations du système et des normes de gestion de la maintenance.
Formation : Diplôme universitaire en génie électrique, un diplôme d’études supérieures peut être envisagé.
• Expérience : 3 à 5 ans d’expérience dans un environnement industriel.
• Bilinguisme : Français et anglais, un atout
