Reporting to: Director of Information Security Overview: This position involves contributing to the day-to-day delivery of the client's information security program, operations, and security compliance efforts. The role is critical in supporting the Security team in identifying and protecting against cyber threats. Team members will work directly with internal and external parties to conduct security incident response activities and manage the organization’s operations for threats and vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Security Incident Response: Conduct real-time tactical management of security events. Lead and guide SOC and IT teams to investigate and respond to security incidents.
Threat and Vulnerability Management: Assess and manage threats and vulnerabilities, produce technical reports, and conduct briefings. Support teams with remediation activities.
Security Operations Centre (SOC) Management: Manage and leverage third-party SOC to meet service level expectations.
Security Governance and Controls: Ensure appropriate security governance, controls, and capabilities are in place and operating effectively. Recommend and drive improvements.
Compliance and Audit: Assist in internal and external audits, compliance measurement, and related remediation efforts.
Security Tools Management: Participate in the management of security tools, technology, and appliances to ensure effective operation.
Security Strategy and Architecture: Contribute to the architecture, selection, and design of security strategies to address threats. Participate in vulnerability assessments, security audits, and penetration tests.
Emerging Security Risks: Research and maintain awareness of emerging security risks. Innovate and implement solutions.
Reporting and Documentation: Produce detailed incident reports, technical briefs, and regular security reports. Create and execute phishing campaigns, security testing, and exercises.
Security Standards and Procedures: Contribute to the development of security standards, operating procedures, and response playbooks.

Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 6-9 years in information security with troubleshooting experience in IT environments.
Knowledge of Security Tools: Proficiency with security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, NAC, AV, Endpoint Protection, DLP, EDR, WAF, email security, web technology security, application security, PAM, CASB, SASE).
Networking Security Expertise: Experience with networking security (e.g., firewalls, TCP, SSL/TLS, DNS, SSO, MFA, hardening, zoning, CIS).
Enterprise and Cloud Operations: Knowledge of enterprise server platforms, virtualized technology, and cloud operations.
Application Lifecycle Management: Familiarity with Azure DevOps, JIRA, Jenkins, Git, secure code practices, and related tools (DAST, SAST, OWASP).
Agile Development: Understanding of Agile software development practices and disciplines.
Scripting and Programming Skills: Knowledge in PowerShell, Bash, Python, C#, SQL, Excel Power Query are assets.
Certifications: Formal IT & security accreditations (e.g., ITIL, Security+, CompTIA A+, Network+). Must be certified as CISSP or CISM.
Education: A degree or diploma in information security, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
