Community Executive Director

The CEO leads the industry association, championing the vision for the future of non-profit credit counselling. They create a collaborative environment and support diversity in representation and thinking. Lead the association’s strategic planning process, and work with the Board, association members, and staff to implement the plan.
● Financial Performance and Viability
● Operate within the approved budget, maintain strong financial controls, and ensure the organization's positive financial position remains intact.
Lead operations effectively to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of resources, including staff.
● Establish and maintain key relationships with federal government bodies to enhance the services and programs offered by association members.
● Maintain website and other systems development and ensure system security.
● Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations, and review and sign all contracts and agreements entered into on behalf of the organization.
Board Governance
● Develop policies and risk management plans for Board approval.
● Five or more years of senior management experience.
● A post-secondary education degree or diploma in Business or Social Sciences or equivalent educational qualification.
● Solid, hands-on operations experience, and budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting.
● Strong execution and organizational abilities including project management, planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.
● Work experience in an industry association, financial services sector, or a non-profit is an asset, as is knowledge of not-for-profit credit counselling or the consumer debt market.
● Strong public speaking ability is an asset.
