Major Responsibilities Manage and coordinate project activities across all phases. Ensure project progress is properly tracked, reported, and delivered according to approved scope, schedule, and cost. Apply SaskPower’s Project Management framework and templates. Deliver projects that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations. Regular project status reports. Deployment of qualified project staff (PMP-certified and experienced). Successful delivery of project milestones and final deliverables. Adherence to Appendix A – General Requirements and Practices. Qualifications & Experience Education & Certifications Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 certification required. Demonstrated history of continuous improvement. Technical Skills Advanced experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent (minimum 2+ years). Experience (Seniority Levels) Junior: 3–5 years Intermediate: 6–7 years Senior: 8+ years SaskPower’s Seniority Level Descriptions (Appendix B) also apply when assessing candidate suitability. Key Activities & Responsibilities Project Management Request Develop project governance structure (roles, responsibilities, reporting). Prepare project proposals and estimates including cost, risks, alternatives, and deviations from standards. Tailor (“right-size”) project management processes as required. Coordinate activities within SaskPower business units and Contractor Service Delivery Teams. Integration Management Comply with project management processes, tools, and templates. Develop Project Charter. Use Earned Value Management (EVM) tools (CPI/SPI). Prepare cost and schedule estimates. Maintain performance measurement baselines. Monitor and control project work; direct project execution. Ensure configuration management across technical and administrative areas. Manage integrated change control. Project Planning Develop the Project Execution Plan (PEP) based on WBS, scope, schedule, and cost baselines. Submit PEP for required reviews and approvals. Project Execution Execute according to the approved PEP. Coordinate design, build, testing, piloting, integration, and installation activities. Conduct status meetings in alignment with SaskPower standards. Provide regular progress and issue reports. Scope Management Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Perform scope planning, definition, verification, and change control. Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). Risk Management Conduct risk planning, identification, qualitative analysis, response planning, and monitoring. Maintain and report risk logs. Cost Management Document business benefits for business case development. Coordinate cost estimation activities with SMEs. Measure and report performance using EVM. Manage cost controls, budget change requests, accruals, and forecasts. Issue project financial closure documentation. Time Management Define activities, sequence tasks, estimate durations, and develop project schedules. Identify and maintain critical path. Manage schedule changes and provide monthly schedule performance updates. Procurement Management Support procurement planning, solicitation, vendor selection, contract administration, and closeout. Manage supplier performance and track deliverables. Supervise client contract staff deployed on projects. Quality Management Plan, implement, and control quality processes. Ensure project deliverables meet defined quality standards. Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) and defect resolution. Human Resource Management Support organizational planning, staffing, and team development. Manage resource availability and resolve allocation issues. Build and lead an effective project team. Communication Management Develop and execute a Communications Plan. Submit Organizational Change Management (OCM) plans for approval. Participate in Steering Committee meetings. Contribute to lessons-learned documentation.
