Our client in Toronto is looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to join their well-funded venture (USD $8.5M raised). The venture is focused on tackling unique treasury, accounting, and asset management challenges. It has processed over $100B in transactions in the last year
About the Role:
We're looking for more than just a Platform Engineer – we're seeking a trailblazer, a visionary who thrives on pushing the boundaries of what's possible in fintech. As part of our dynamic team, you'll architect and scale applications using cutting-edge cloud services and architectures (AWS, GCP), mastering the complexities of cloud environments to deliver unmatched performance. You'll optimize SQL databases for high-volume transactional data, tackle complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive impactful projects forward.
But it doesn't stop there. We need someone who lives and breathes innovation and is ready to dive headfirst into the world of Web3/blockchain. If you're a Kubernetes wizard, experienced in CI/CD, and passionate about crypto and financial products, you're exactly who we're looking for.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and scale applications leveraging cloud services (GCP)
- Optimize SQL databases for high-volume transactional data
- Tackle complex technical challenges with innovative solutions
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive impactful projects forward
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices
Does this sound like you?
- 5+ years working on production web applications
- Rich experience in platform engineering, ideally within a web3/blockchain setting
- Deep understanding of storage, indexing, data structures, and algorithms
- Strong experience in monitoring and codifying secure infrastructure
- Keen interest in working on crypto or other financial products
- Kubernetes wizard, experienced with CI/CD, familiar with Docker and SRE
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Passion for writing tests
Additional Desired Experience ("Nice to Haves"):
- Strong understanding of Temporal and Postgres
- Experience with large ETL pipelines and complex workflows
- Worked with different blockchains or tools in the web3 ecosystem
- Enjoy working in startups and have been part of a team during its growth stage
