Origination & M&A Advisory Full Time Toronto, ON
Role Description: Managers develop and maintain relationships with our clients' most strategic acquisition targets. Managers also play a key role in nurturing our long-term mandates and client relationships. This role is an opportunity for someone who has what it takes to initiate and influence deals forward, and actually do it.
Your main responsibility is to generate conversations with key acquisition targets on behalf of CDaaS clients, and advance those conversations forward.
You will connect with decision makers at those targets primarily by phone, email or LinkedIn, determine their strategic initiatives (e.g. M&A, succession planning), confirm suitability for our clients, prepare memos and make introductions to our clients. Your outreach targets are well documented and segmented in our CRM to start with, and the prospecting tools and software at your disposal are advanced.
You should be comfortable conversing and engaging with owners or C-Level about their business and strategic priorities and opportunities. You are a self-motivated and driven individual who is goal oriented, has great communication skills and thrives on exceeding their targets.
With time, you will progress in our CDaaS team, expanding your scope and responsibilities in managing prospects and mandates further.
The role reports to a Vice President, Origination & Advisory.
Responsibilities
• Email, LinkedIn and phone outreach to already-qualified prospects in our CRM
• Build, nurture and manage prospect pipeline
• Achieve or exceed personal monthly targets for qualified meetings based upon specific criteria
• Maintain and update an accurate log of activity in our CRM
• Embrace data-oriented practices to optimize personal performance
• Exhibit a thirst for ongoing learning and development to insure target achievement, professional growth and increased knowledge of M&A and capital markets
• Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business or a relevant field, having graduated near the top of your class
• Keen understanding of mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and capital markets
• Two plus years of relevant experience in deal origination and/or business development
• Outstanding ability to engage and influence prospects over email/LinkedIn/phone
• Outstanding ability to make sense of and document interactions with prospects
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• High degree of organization, curiosity and willingness to learn
• A good mind for business
• Languages of interest: Portuguese, Mandarin, Spanish
