Position Job Title: Compliance Manager Location: Niagara Falls, ON (Hybrid) Reports To: Executive Director, Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management OverviewThe University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF), Ontario’s newest university set to open its doors in 2024, will be offering a host of distinctive undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare graduates to be leaders in a digital world. Primary Purpose The Compliance Manager at UNF ensures ethical conduct and compliance with various provincial and federal rules, regulations and standard processes that govern educational services. The role includes working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, as well as involvement in policy and procedure development.Specific Responsibilities Generate reports and complete Compliance related reporting.Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for Compliance management activities and programs.Formulate, update, and implement comprehensive Privacy and Data Protection policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential privacy risks and vulnerabilities.Complete Institutional due diligence of educational agents and partners, as well as overseeing ongoing monitoring of agent performance.Implement compliance procedures in coordination with the management of UNF to ensure all departments and programs are operating in compliance with government regulations and external accrediting bodies.Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; work to develop action plans for the mitigation of those risks and provide guidance on how to avoid instances of non-compliance.Identify and report non-compliance instances to management and work with staff to correct the issue(s).Monitor and implement quality assurance standards and procedures and evaluate their adequacy.Implement and maintain operating policies and procedures, communicating information via emails or in-person about our policies, procedures and processes and their implications.Providing regular compliance reports to senior management.Position RequirementsTo be successful in the Compliance Manager position, the individual must possess:Bachelor’s degree from a relevant field is required.Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a compliance role, with knowledge of regulatory and legislative policy and procedures.Highly ethical natureAble to confidentiality handle sensitive informationA flexible approach to working and the ability to cope with frequently changing environments.The ability to work independently but also as part of a wider management teamA proactive and innovative thinker demonstrating good attention to detailAbility to liaise with key stakeholders Knowledge and Skills:An analytical mind with a strategic abilityExcellent organizational and leadership skillsOutstanding communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to work in conflict situations, manage difficult people, and deal with ambiguityA team-oriented approach and positive attitudeStudent-centered philosophyPractical problem-solving and interpersonal skillsAbility to relate to the diverse stakeholders, including Boards and the parent companyAbility to develop and maintain collaborative relationshipsDemonstrable track record in managing a conflicting workload, often delivering results to tight deadlines.Superior listening, critical thinking, and reading comprehension skillsPersuasive presentation skills and ability to field tough questionsWe thank you for your interest in working with University of Niagara Falls Canada.
