We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to scale our BiblioCore product that will help millions of library users discover more physical and digital content. This is an exciting opportunity to implement awesome fullstack features, build beautiful and accessible user interfaces, while exercising your leadership skills to lead projects and provide mentorship.

How you will make an impact:

  • Build and improve BiblioCore’s user facing services in React, NodeJS and Java API stack to enhance the library catalog experience for millions of users

  • Integrating with other BiblioCommons products to re-purpose library staff content (e.g. blog posts, staff lists, online resources, etc ) for display in our catalog search results

  • Take ownership for leading the design, development, and operationalization of features and systems

  • Lead projects end to end and collaborate with product, ux , qa and/or other stakeholders

  • Be a mentor to junior and intermediate engineers

  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on systemic issues

  • Write robust and quality code with appropriate tests

  • Participate in code review, and best practice discussions

  • Proactively looking for ways to make all aspects of the BiblioCommons user experience better

What you will bring to the team:

  • 5 + years of software development experience

  • Proven experience building React and NodeJS fullstack applications

  • Strong understanding of HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript

  • S olid knowledge of backend RESTful API applications using Ruby, Java or Python

  • Experience debugging and optimizing large-scale systems

  • Have a mindset for end to end ownership of services

  • Passionate, motivated, and capable of working autonomously

  • Strong communication skills and collaborative across team
