SummaryOur parent company, GMS Canada, is currently looking for an experienced and motivated Business Intelligence Developer. The BI Developer (BID) will design, develop, and maintain the organizations Business Intelligence solutions. The BID will use data analytics platforms, reporting tools, and visualization techniques to turn raw data into meaningful insights to support the organization in making informed decisions.Roles & ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and jobs.Develop, implement, and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards.Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements.Implements best practices in data management to ensure the integrity of the data, the quality of the data processes and delivers analyzable or analyzed data to a variety of stakeholders.Identify data issues proactively and flag them to respective stakeholders.Review and maintain data replication health.Review and interpret ongoing business reporting requirements.Troubleshoot database issues related to data and permissions.Identify and communicate technical problems, processes, and solutions.Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications.Document the development procedure at every stage of the project.QualificationsExperience, Education and Designations:Minimum of 5 years related work experience.Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in computer science, information technology, or related field considered an asset.Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Navision, or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central considered an asset.Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming and Microsoft SQL ServerExperience with SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Analysis ServicesStrong technical knowledge and experience with Power BI and information visualization techniques and strategies.Familiarity with business operations, objectives, strategies, process, and information flowStrong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Skilled in creating pivot tables, graphs, and charts using data tools.Competencies:Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated sense of urgencyStrong analytical, organization and problem-solving skillsContinuous improvement and customer centric mindsetStrong written, verbal skills and presentation skillsAttention to detail and accuracy.Ability to coordinate across teams, working closely with peers to ensure the appropriate focus and sense of urgency is applied to all.Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customersThe position may require work outside of normal business hours (including some weekends and holidays) in response to critical, business-impacting situations.BenefitsHealth benefits - including drug coverage, practitioner, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.Retirement savings (pension or other) are provided.Perks - Company discounts (mobile phone, gym membership, etc.), training programs and opportunities for career advancement, group events, and moreIf you feel we are a good fit for your career goals and skillset, we invite you to apply and look forward to reviewing your application.
