PRODUCTION MANAGER – CALGARY PLANT
The Opportunity
As the leader of the Calgary Plant, you have the exciting opportunity to build effective relationships with internal departments to produce a superior product. The Production Manager is responsible for production operations at the Plant including safety, quality, planning, production, employee and labour relations, maintenance and shipping.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the manufacturing operations of this corrugated sheet plant focusing on Safety – the number one priority at WestRock, Quality, Production and Cost.
- Leading the team in meeting WestRock’s values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability and Excellence, recognizing individual and team successes and dealing with underperformers in a fair and consistent manner when needed.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with the Union on site.
- Leading process improvements activities and make recommendations on process and equipment improvements.
- Participating in Western Canada (Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg) sales and production planning activities to exceed customer satisfaction.
What you need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree (four year) from a university or a college and a minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role in manufacturing, experience in corrugated industry a definite asset.
- A minimum of three years of experience in representing Management in a unionized environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in achieving goals, in problem-solving and in decision-making.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to changing demands/priorities.
- Ability to balance customer expectations and act in the best interest of Westrock.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
