Senior Estimator

Our client is in the commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing industry. They are looking for a full-time Senior Estimator to join their team based in Brampton, Ontario.
In this role, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for:
- Monitoring bidding opportunities and identifying potential projects of interest.
- Assessing the technical aspects of potential projects and preparing initial cost estimates.
- Working with limited supervision.
- Creating and submitting bid proposals after review.
- Preparing costing for ongoing project changes.
- Following up with on-site issues with operations team.
- Attending site meetings as required.
- Coordinating the investigation and resolution of disputes.
- Analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing projects.
- Collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Researching and recommending cost-effective materials, methods, and techniques for roofing projects.
- Evaluating subcontractor bids and negotiating pricing and terms as needed.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and regulations related to roofing materials and construction.
- Assisting in developing project schedules and budgets based on estimated costs.
- Providing ongoing support and guidance to project teams during the estimation and bidding process.
- Reviewing and analyzing project proposals, contracts, and change orders to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and estimating or comparable level in the commercial/institutional construction industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Commercial Roofing is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of standard construction practices (i.e. CCDC) and building codes.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant discipline.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.
