Role: Java Tech LeadLocation: Toronto ON(Hybrid) CanadaJob Type: Contract Job RequirementsHere are the minimum requirements for this position:Bachelor's Degree. 9+ years of progressively senior experience in technology design, development, and delivery. Design and develop quality solutions consistent with project objectives. Develop, implement, and maintain secure solutions that maximize system availability, keeping scalability, throughput and fault tolerance in mind.Experience developing web applications, database driven applications and distributed systems. Sense of urgency and ability to apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver solutions on the fly.Participate in code reviews. Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation as required. Experience with SQL, Java, J2EE, HTML, Spring framework, Hibernate/JPA, MVC, REST Service, Microservices, API. Experience working with Kafka Producer and Consumer applications.Good understanding of JVM level knowledge, memory, garbage collection and performance tuning.Working experience in all the common tool/utilities: Maven, GIT, Restful API testing, ftp, ssh, unix script, SSL encryption. Strong troubleshooting skills - Able to read and debug the code. Understanding and application of technology trends (banking industry and overall best practices)Strong relationship building, influence skills and ability to productively interact with all levels of leadershipStrong facilitation, communication and presentation skills with tech and business audiencesAbility to create/modify/communicate tech roadmap, and design/advocate for solutions that align to existing roadmaps.Leadership of others, in formal and/or informal organization linesStrong collaboration skills working with other workstreams or project teamsMust be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position
