As an Actuarial Analyst, no two days will look the same. You'll have the opportunity to play a significant role in ensuring the company's objectives for profitability are achieved and collaborate with people from various teams from Blue Cross organizations across Canada. You'll need strong analytical skills and a love for data/analytics.
Responsibilities
Complete quarterly reporting to analyze and monitor the profitability of group insurance products;
Identify and implement enhancements to reporting processes to support our efficiency initiatives;
Create and/or populate actuarial models to price various group life products and revisions;
Provide support to the underwriting team for large/complex quotes;
Communicate with reinsurance partners regarding quotations and technical pricing models and evaluate/review reinsurance treaties;
Support the implementation and testing of new products or product changes in quotation tools and administrative systems;
Adapt current business processes and tools to test and accommodate the roll-out of new IT systems and data sources.
Qualifications
University Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or another closely related field;
Progress towards the ASA/ACIA designation is considered an asset;
Minimum 3 years' related work experience;
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with the ability to create pivot tables and utilize various summary functions. Experience writing and/ or debugging VBA considered an asset;
Enjoy working on process improvement and automation initiatives and have experience with building and maintaining business process models;
Possess excellent problem-solving skills and proven success in pinpointing and resolving issues in complicated data sets;
Exceptional analytical skills with high attention to details;
Knowledge of group insurance products would be considered an asset;
Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
