A college diploma in industrial engineering technology, manufacturing technology, or a related discipline, Welding inspection, level 1 or 2 is recommended.
Inspect welds for Quality/ Defects
Ensure Weld process monitoring sheets are being verified to weld equipment parameters
Perform and make minor adjustments according to PM schedules on welding fixtures in the weld cells
Intermediate drawing interpretations and SPC principles.
Perform Non-destructive testing and evaluation.
Verify accuracy with NDT equipment.
Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
Two to five years of related welding experience (minimum GMAW flat ticket.)
CWB Level 1 welding inspector certification or prior welding experience
Exposure to machining and welding practices, experience with Metrology, SPC, knowledge of measuring techniques, gauging and inspection equipment. May measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards.
Use technical skills and knowledge to identify root cause of problem. Make waste-reducing recommendations to quality manager.
Interact with supervisor to co-ordinate work and exchange information during production and quality meetings. Interact with the production supervisor/manager to discuss product quality. Interact with operators to monitor progress and correct work that does not meet quality standards.
Meet with production manager, quality manager and supervisors every day to discuss quality issues and resolve any related problems.
Maintain continuous learning in order to keep up with new developments in field.
