Our client, a successful Oil and Gas company, is searching for a permanent, site based Maintenance Engineer . Reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Superintendent, this role will oversee the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment such as pumps, seals, motors, meters, values etc. The primary focus will be on the preservation, restoration and enhancement of these assets. The position requires a highly professional and personable individual who demonstrates strong business judgment and can network, communicate, organize, and work in a busy environment with multiple stakeholders.
Relocation is available for the successful candidate and must be a permanent resident of Canada.
Enhance availability and reliability of assets
Ensure failure elimination techniques such as root cause failure analysis are utilized to prevent repeat failures and enhance asset availability
Troubleshooting of assets not meeting performance requirements
Provide technical support and solutions for aging and obsolete assets
Helps establish good maintenance practices and provides technical assistance to the maintenance and operations teams
Maintenance strategies and plans
Define and implement maintenance strategies to prevent or detect the onset of asset failures
Support and enhance predictive condition monitoring and other non-destructive testing programs to proactively identify potential reliability issues
Develop technical specifications for maintenance repairs and replacements
Provide technical input for planning work packages and task lists as required
Utilize Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques to enhance effectiveness of preservation activities
Provide recommendations for asset upgrades using life cycle costing
Support the implementation of new technology to enhance asset availability and reliability
Reporting and Key Performance Indicators
Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports for avoiding maintenance delays and makes recommendations for improvements
Frequent tours of field sites to ensure the standards for reliability, quality, safety, procedure use, and cleanliness are maintained
Ideally 10 or more years of related Electrical, Maintenance and Industrial experience with rotating and stationary assets (with strong consideration for Electrical experience)
Professional Engineer Designation (APEGA or APEGS) or Engineering Technologist (ASET) is necessary
Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or Engineering Technical Diploma from an accredited institution
Experience with equipment related to midstream oil and gas pipelines and terminals will be considered an asset
Working experience and training of condition monitoring techniques such as vibration, thermography, airborne ultrasound & oil analysis
Working experience and training using Reliability software and Reliability statistics
Working experience and training using Computerized Maintenance Management System such as SAP
Working experience developing maintenance strategies and plans
Experience in failure elimination techniques such as root cause failure analysis
Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance
Experience in development of maintenance standards, policies, and strategies
Safe work practices in oil and gas production accompanied by a superior safety attitude is mandatory
Shift is Monday - Friday, day time hours
