THE OPPORTUNITY

We are excited to partner up with our new client in their search for a Junior Environmental Consultant based out or within an hour of Swift Current, SK. Surrounding areas include: Swift Current, Maple Creek, Shaunavon, Gull Lake, and Moose Jaw. The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set and experience with Pre-Construction, Remediation and Reclamation projects. In this position you will work in a team atmosphere to ensure project requirements are completed safely and efficiently. You will provide cost-effective solutions while providing our clients with a high quality of work while maintaining professional ethics.

KEY ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
  1. Executing scopes of work and cost estimates under the Project Manager’s supervision.
  2. Ensuring project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner.
  3. Participating in technical and safety programs, quality assurance and quality control.
  4. Assisting with Phase 2 and Phase 3 site assessments.
  5. Completing detailed site assessments and groundwater monitoring.
  6. Regularly coordinating and supervising reclamation projects.
  7. Managing and meeting all client and regulatory ground disturbance requirements.
  8. Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, directives, and SOP’s.
  9. Implementing and maintaining internal/client safety programs.
  10. Remaining current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, providing updated information as it becomes available.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Reclamation, or similar discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant field experience.
  • Professional designation or articling to obtain is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the water act and experience with wetland classification an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with the 2010 Reclamation Criteria and Guidelines and the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Remediation Guidelines an asset.
  • Well Equipped in understanding upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in AB, BC.
  • Experience with reclamation and remediation on private and public lands.
  • Strong soil characterization and vegetation identification skills.
  • Good physical health with willingness to travel and work in the field for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid Pesticide Applicators License is an asset.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills, and is very detail oriented and organized.
  • Precise attention to detail and ability to produce professional quality deliverables on time and on budget.
