Our client, a leading commercial aircraft manufacturer is seeking to hire an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor to join their team in Abbotsford.
As an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations. You will collaborate with teams to recommend procedure enhancements to meet safety objectives while adhering to regulatory requirements. Salary: Dependent on experience. Location: Abbotsford, British Columbia. Benefits: Extended benefits 100% company paid (after 3 months of employment). Pension: Pension matching after 6 months. Responsibilities- Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations, offering guidance and resources to employees.
- Research and recommend safety equipment and practices to enhance safety metrics.
- Conduct internal safety audits and investigations, suggesting corrective actions for compliance and improvement.
- Review and investigate all first aid occurrences.
- Deliver safety training programs in alignment with corporate policies.
- Ensure thorough accident and incident investigations as per established protocols.
- Support joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee meetings.
- Monitor hazard observations and maintain records.
- Assist in managing hazardous materials in compliance with regulations.
- Ensure availability of adequate facilities and equipment for first aid.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on employee injuries and WSBC claims.
- Support safety practice audits for regulatory compliance.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- 3+ years' of related experience in manufacturing and/or aviation.
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.
- Understanding of disability management practices.
- Experience in audit management and accident/incident investigations.
- Proficient in Canadian Health & Safety Regulations.
- Knowledgeable in Industrial Hygiene practices.
- Familiarity with WSBC regulations and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
