Wilsons Heating is looking for a Gas1 or Gas2 Technician to join our team. The successful candidate may qualify for up to a $5000 bonus. We are looking to fill 1 position based out of our Truro, Nova Scotia office and work at customer sites throughout the area.
As a Gas Heating Technician, you will be responsible for fulfilling customer requests by diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance on existing systems, and installing new equipment. Your primary objective is to deliver outstanding customer service and ensure that the systems you service are safe, efficient, and functioning properly. You will also be expected to complete all tasks promptly and effectively. Your success will be measured by the quality of your work and the satisfaction of our customers.

*Qualifications We’re Looking For: *
We are seeking a Gas Technician with proven experience in gas system installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ideal candidates will have:
Experience: 5-10 years of proven experience working as a licensed Gas Technician
Certification: A valid Gas Technician license (Gas Fitter 2 or equivalent) is required. Dual licensing (Oil and Gas) is an asset.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of gas codes, safety regulations, and manufacturers’ instructions. Familiarity with wiring and heating systems is highly valued.
Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to address complex issues and provide efficient solutions.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear interaction with clients and team members.
Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership by guiding and mentoring junior team members.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment above 20 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods.

As a Gas Technician at Wilsons, you’ll be an essential part of our service team. You will take on a variety of responsibilities that include:
Installation and Maintenance: Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs for propane tanks, appliances, vaporizers, and other gas systems in both residential and commercial settings. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety codes and manufacturer instructions.
Administrative Tasks: Manage necessary administrative duties such as ordering parts, completing work orders and assisting with invoices and shop-related activities to ensure smooth operational flow.
Other Duties: Provide support for other operational and service-related tasks as needed to meet team and customer needs. This may include assisting with the training and development of less experienced staff and working closely with sales.
Lead Role: Take a lead role on jobs, managing your workload and helping guide junior technicians. Encourage team collaboration, coach colleagues, and lead by example to maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
Photo Documentation: Provide photo documentation for all completed work, ensuring accurate records of services provided for future reference and client reporting.
