The accountant will play a crucial role in the organization's financial management, overseeing a full spectrum of financial and cost accounting activities. Responsible for Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Payroll, the incumbent will ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, adherence to local accounting principles, and compliance with financial reporting standards. Additionally, the Accountant will actively contribute to project cost forecasts, budgets, and monitoring, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.

Additionally, the Accountant will actively contribute to project cost forecasts, budgets, and monitoring, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role: Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll etc.
  • Responsible for day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
  • Perform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of the accounts.
  • Perform Project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls.
  • Responsible for timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, payments, cash flow management reporting for submission to Finance Manager.
  • Recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions and events in accordance with accepted local accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Using various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, format data for accounting and reporting purposes.
  • Review and approve payment vouchers and journal entries.
  • Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and working closely with the operations and project teams in analyzing margins, variances and cost analysis.
  • Issue project cost reports for review and approval.
  • Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.
  • Supporting Finance Manager in ensuring that intercompany cost allocations are in line with management agreements and transfer pricing policy.
  • Establish and maintain systems for cost-sensitivity analysis and early-warning of costs overruns
  • Working with respective departments on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Cooperation with external auditors for the preparation of the Financial Statements.
  • Other financial management duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills – ability to build and maintain positive relationships with operating management, financial staff and other departments.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with MS office and Excel.
  • Knowledge and comfort understanding and utilizing financial models.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • At least 5+ experience in similar capacity.
  • Degree from an accredited University in either Accounting or Finance.
  • CA, CGA, CMA, or CPA designation Required.
