JOB POSTING: Fundraising and Communications LeadFull-time: 37.5 Hours/Week – Remote or hybrid possibleAnnual compensation: Starts at $70,000Application Deadline: September 15, 2024Changing lives for over a decade, the YES Shelter for Youth and Families is at an exciting time of growth in our provision of shelter, education, and transitional supports in Peterborough. The Fundraising and Communications Lead supervises, coordinates and oversees the activities of all organizational initiatives related to fundraising, communications and community outreach.Responsibilities: Fundraising Program Management Maintain and help to grow a $1M Fundraising Program including Individual and Major Giving, Corporate Sponsorships, Major Gifts, Estate Giving and Grants.Oversee management of a donor database with over 3500 active contacts.Work with Executive Director and Major Giving Lead to create and maintain meaningful relationships with community members fulfilled by giving to the organization at high levels.Organize and implement Quarterly Direct Mail Campaign including digital components adopting strategies that reflect the ideals of the agency and the most effective and current fundraising practices. Advise on public and donor relations impact and potential liability.Coordinate and grow Corporate Fundraising Program, Estate Giving Program and Monthly Giving Program.Maintain grant program by working with YES Leadership Team to identify projects, writing and submitting grants, and reporting on project/spending.Manage and implement Stewardship Program including thank you letters, impact statements, personalized reports, and stewardship meetings/events.Continuously research current and relevant fundraising opportunities.CommunicationsRaise awareness on the issue of youth and family homelessness through public messaging, speaking at events and networking in the community.Oversee staff to create daily social media content + monthly original anchor content on the blog.Write and produce any public facing reports and print materials required for the organization including Annual Report and general awareness and promotional materials.Work with the Executive Director in reporting to funders, ensuring adequate quantitative and qualitative data collection.Prepare and maintain quarterly/annual budgets as required.Oversee the team to ensure that office space works well for all employees.Staff Supervision and Administration · Oversee staff to maintain all content on the organizational website.Delegate team to coordinate and participate in events that could increase community support of YES.Provide direction and coaching to staff including recognition, performance management, staff meetings/communication, and training.Create/maintain procedures and communication methods to foster productivity, team satisfaction, and meet all policy, funder and legislative requirements.Work with team to ensure all public facing YES spaces are in good shape and safe for all.Other duties as assignedQualifications: · 5+ years’ experience in a fundraising role for a registered charity.· Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and some weekends as needed.Competencies: · Proven track record of fundraising success in Individual and Monthly Giving Programs. · Solid understanding of CRA regulations around gift receipting and acknowledgment.· Experience managing contacts with a donor database.· Understanding of the principles of Community Centric Fundraising and ability to explain how CCF informs your fundraising strategy and practice.· Writing, design and art direction capabilities and experience creating organizational digital and print materials.· Contributes positively to an inclusive team environment.· Works cooperatively to build partnerships outside of the agency for the furtherance of the program.· Ability to network at community events and represent the agency in a positive manner.· Ability to analyze trends and data in order to better inform fundraising initiatives.· Has the skill of strategic thinking as related to fundraising and organizational goals.· Acts on behalf of the agency in a manner that maintains integrity and transparency.· Ability to communicate agency mission/vision in order to present fundraising in a compelling/persuasive way. Certifications: · CFRE Designation an asset· Valid “G” driver’s license; access to a reliable vehicle an asset.· Must provide child welfare and criminal records check (with vulnerable sectors search) and sign an oath of confidentiality to protect client privacy.
