As an Accountant under our Business Services Group, you will be responsible to maintain proper ledgers, registers, accounts, journals as well as similar financial records. In this role, you will regularly collaborate with members of Brookfield’s Business Services Group Accounting team and support the Senior Accountant.

Maintain, monitor and reconcile monthly general ledger reconciliations;
Perform bank and other account reconciliations;
Investigation/analysis of intercompany balances/chargeback issues;
Support other departments such as Financial Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Consolidations in achieving successful internal and external reporting through providing variance analysis on non-complex accounts/LEs and supporting their understanding of the Accounting records;
Account for PPEadditions and disposals and maintain CWIP and fixed asset schedules.
Prepare and file Canadian and US sales tax returns (incl. supporting with property tax);
Prepare bank deposits;
Provide year-end audit support to auditor questions and requests;
Support with UAT testing on strategic initiatives or software upgrades;
Perform ad hoc projects as needed during the year;
Assist in the integration of new assets/acquisitions into the consolidated accounting and reporting process

3+ years experience performing full-cycle accounting
~ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent in relevant work experience;
~ Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS and US GAAP is an asset);
~ Experience in working in a public listed companies (in US or Canada) will be considered an asset.


This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively.
