This role is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and reporting to senior management, while safeguarding the financial interests of the company.Key Responsibilities:Manage accounting operations including general ledger, journal entries, payroll, and statutory reporting.Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for multiple branches.Ensure accurate and timely month-end financial reporting, including cash flow management.Coordinate year-end audits and prepare audited financial statements.Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements, including HST returns, and liaise with stakeholders.Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls and accounting policies to align with legal, regulatory, and company standards.Collaborate with operations to enhance processes affecting financial performance and operational efficiency.Support strategic projects, system implementations, and internal controls from a finance perspective.Assist in troubleshooting accounting issues and building relationships with key stakeholders to address financial information needs.Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial records.Undertake additional duties as assigned.Required Skills and Knowledge:Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting with a CPA designation.5-10 years of corporate accounting experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory role.Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.Leadership and team development experience.In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, accounting principles, and financial management.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.Experience with budget preparation and financial analysis.Skilled in negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution.
