Residential Service Technician

Location: Carleton Place, Ontario & Stittsville, Ontario

Patten Homes is the home building division of Thomas Cavanagh Construction. For more than 25 years, Patten Homes has been exceeding the hopes and dreams of our clients by blending style and functionality in the quality homes we build. Patten Homes is looking to increase their construction volume and will be opening, and building, several new communities over the next few years. As we grow, we will continue to focus on quality of product as well and providing a wonderful client experience. We are currently building a Team of experienced individuals to help make Patten Homes the Builder of Choice in Ottawa and surrounding areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean and repair units to provide a safe and efficient working environment for sub-trades.
  • Operate hand and power tools required for day-to-day tasks in residential construction.
  • Perform detailed finishing work including drywall repairs, paint touch-ups, caulking, trim repairs, hardware installation, grout, and tile repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials properly, storing them securely, and securing the site daily.
  • Load and unload construction supplies from delivery trucks manually or with equipment.
  • Construct safety barriers, platforms, and rails as needed.
  • Assist with snow removal to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform all housekeeping duties to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Be willing to perform other daily duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and own mode of transportation.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather conditions (cold, rain, heat, etc,).
  • Ability to meet physical demands of job.
  • Own basic carpenter tools is an asset
