SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) focuses on non-credit programs supporting corporate training, the individual learner and international projects. We create courses and programs for life-long learning with careers at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.

The Role

We are currently recruiting an Educational Laboratory Technologist to provide technical support, maintenance services and Dental Reception support for the Continuing Education Dental Assisting Courses: Preventive Dentistry Module (PDM)

This position will be responsible for preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, dental reception, pre-lab preparations and post-lab servicing. Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to converse technically with instructors, contractors, vendors and students. This position is an integral part of CDARI’s Technical Support Team

The Educational Laboratory Technologist is expected to work collaboratively with Instructors & colleagues to create a learning atmosphere which is pedagogically sound, technically supported, and innovative in nature.

The Opportunity
  • Preventive Dentistry Module (Fall)
  • Pre-Clinical (12 days): September 15th - 17th, 22nd - 24th, 29th - 1st, Oct 6th , 14th & 15th (Fri: 1pm - 9pm & Sat/Sun: 8am - 5pm)
  • Clinical (5days): November 3rd-5th, 11th & 12th
  • Intakes to run 3-4 times a year. Further dates TBD
Qualifications
  • High school graduation supplemented by or including technical course work related to position assignment and some related industry experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Related experience in a post-secondary institution is an asset
  • Registered Dental Assistantis preferred
  • Familiar with Dentrix software
  • Dental Reception experience considered an asset
