Our client is a leading regional law firm. Their operations began in 1980 and they have now grown to approximately 65 lawyers. Their clients include business leaders and emerging entrepreneurs, public corporations, private corporations, trusts and estates.

Our client is currently seeking to add a Senior Corporate Tax Associate to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to take on a leadership role in further developing the tax practice by marketing services to both internal and external clients. The firm is also open to considering junior to mid-level tax partners.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in collaborating with other partners and associates within a sizable regional law firm that boasts robust practices in Business Law, Trusts and Estates, Litigation, Real Estate, and Family Law.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • 7+ years experience practicing taxation law (including in the context of estate planning) with either a major or intermediate Canadian law firm or a law firm associated with one of the major accounting firms.
  • Completion of In depth Tax Course or LLM in tax would be an asset
  • Experience in advising individuals, private corporations and public corporations on income tax and GST issues.
  • Strong analytical, matter management, research and writing skills.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with exceptional communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Qualified to practice law in Canada
