In your role, reporting to the Director of Product Development, you will:
- Lead a team of Stress Specialists
- Participate in the recruitment and integration of new employees
- Ensure a good, positive, and healthy working environment for the employees (communication, recognition, coaching, and career development plans/opportunities)
- Ensure adequate engineering resources are allocated to support aircraft development and production
- Manage and resolve priority conflicts within your department and with internal customers
- Be accountable for your group’s performance – deliver on-time, within budget, and with quality
- Participate in the organization of departmental governance
- Provide visibility on the execution, issues, and escalations to your Director/VP
- Participate in budget preparation and manage financial resources
- Identify cost reduction opportunities
- Identify training and travel required to support business needs
- Develop or adapt tools and processes to meet organizational objectives
- Manage the Structures Supplier(s) and establish technical coordination meetings
- Develop structure and system installation layouts for aircraft programs
- Interface with various functions such as stress, systems, interiors, etc.
- Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues
- Execute weight savings ideas
- Support other engineering and operations departments
As our ideal candidate,
- You have a technologist or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or aerospace technical field with at least 15 years of relevant experience
- You possess a strong knowledge of aircraft structures and systems installation
- You are a strong team player with organizational and managerial skills
- You are creative in problem-solving
- You have experience with supplier management, Change Management, and Configuration Management
- You are organized, self-motivated, bilingual (French, English), and have strong verbal/written English skills
- You have knowledge Continuing Airworthiness
- You are familiar with aerospace manufacturing processes and capabilities
- You have familiarity with aircraft systems, interiors, CATIA V5, Enovia, MS Office, NX, and Teamcenter
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high commitment, and can work independently in a high-pressure environment
