What are your contributions to the team?

In your role, reporting to the Director of Product Development, you will:

  • Lead a team of Stress Specialists
  • Participate in the recruitment and integration of new employees
  • Ensure a good, positive, and healthy working environment for the employees (communication, recognition, coaching, and career development plans/opportunities)
  • Ensure adequate engineering resources are allocated to support aircraft development and production
  • Manage and resolve priority conflicts within your department and with internal customers
  • Be accountable for your group’s performance – deliver on-time, within budget, and with quality
  • Participate in the organization of departmental governance
  • Provide visibility on the execution, issues, and escalations to your Director/VP
  • Participate in budget preparation and manage financial resources
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Identify training and travel required to support business needs
  • Develop or adapt tools and processes to meet organizational objectives
  • Manage the Structures Supplier(s) and establish technical coordination meetings
  • Develop structure and system installation layouts for aircraft programs
  • Interface with various functions such as stress, systems, interiors, etc.
  • Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues
  • Execute weight savings ideas
  • Support other engineering and operations departments
How to thrive in this role?

As our ideal candidate,

  • You have a technologist or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or aerospace technical field with at least 15 years of relevant experience
  • You possess a strong knowledge of aircraft structures and systems installation
  • You are a strong team player with organizational and managerial skills
  • You are creative in problem-solving
  • You have experience with supplier management, Change Management, and Configuration Management
  • You are organized, self-motivated, bilingual (French, English), and have strong verbal/written English skills
  • You have knowledge Continuing Airworthiness
  • You are familiar with aerospace manufacturing processes and capabilities
  • You have familiarity with aircraft systems, interiors, CATIA V5, Enovia, MS Office, NX, and Teamcenter
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high commitment, and can work independently in a high-pressure environment
