Inclusive Education (Learning Support) Teacher

We are looking for an experienced Inclusive Education (Learning Support) Teacher specializing in mathematicsto join ourMorven Campus (Grades 8-12).They should demonstrate the ability to contribute to various aspects of school life, including coaching and extra-curricular responsibilities. This is a Permanent Full-Time positionstarting August 23, 2024.
Provide targeted support for student learning through individual and small-group intervention (mainly focusing on math support)
Collaborate with colleagues in the Inclusive Education and Math department to create innovative lessons and units
Develop and oversee detailed Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and SLPs (Student Learning Plans) to set and achieve student goals and ensure implementation in the classroom
Maintain accurate records and ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations and support
Regularly evaluate the efficacy of learning support interventions and adjust them as necessary
Use various student achievement data to guide learning support practices and assessments
Bachelor of Education with training in teaching students with learning differences
Experience teaching the BC Ministry mathematics curriculum at the secondary level
Certified (or in the process of becoming certified) by the British Columbia Ministry of Education
Master’s Degree or specific coursework in Special Education and Mathematics
Experience in developing, writing and implementing IEP goals
Experience teaching Grade 8 -12 level
The ability to teach students how to use assistive technologies to support their independence and learning
