As our new Senior Environmental Professional – Operations Manager , you will lead our operations in northeastern B.C. and will ultimately build and manage a group of experienced and motivated professionals. You will be fully supported by our teams in Prince George and Grande Prairie, as well as other offices.

Job Description

Your success in this role will depend on your ability to leverage your technical and regulatory knowledge, client service and people skills, to strategically develop and manage client relationships and grow our operations. You will have significant experience working with clients to develop technical scopes of work, proposal preparation, and the successful management and delivery of projects.

We are open to a variety of technical background that could encompass contaminated sites, remediation, reclamation, forestry, waste, hydrogeology, and ecology. Knowledge of a wide range of business sectors will be an asset in this role.

Key Responsibilities

You will also:

• Lead and support business development and proposal initiatives in the area and elsewhere to achieve business development and strategic goals
• Manage overall project/program budgets and schedules, client satisfaction/expectations and internal and contract requirements
• Provide technical advice, support and review for site investigation and remediation projects. 
• Prepare and review technical correspondence, reports, work plans, and project specifications
• Mentor junior and intermediate staff, providing guidance and assisting in their development
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm including senior managers, technical discipline and business sector leaders, and operations managers in a one-team approach

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a strong technical background – contaminated sites, remediation, reclamation, forestry, and waste will all be considered
• Experience building and managing a team of professionals in a consulting environment
• Working knowledge of provincial, local and industry specific regulations and guidelines
• Experience and proven success in business development, client management and preparation of proposals
• Undergraduate science degree or diploma in an environmental discipline
• Professional status or eligibility for professional status in B.C. – additional credentials in other provinces is an asset
• Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites/clients
