Bring your expertise in privacy to PRA Group Canada as a Privacy Specialist
What you will do:
Reporting to the Director of Privacy & Records Management, this role primarily provides support in all privacy related initiatives. This role actively supports and promotes compliance with PRA policies and processes related to data privacy and records management principles and best practices across the organization.
More specifically, your duties will include:
Review and update privacy related policies and procedures, as well as records management and retention
- Monitor and research privacy legislation in Canada
- Provide support in privacy activities related to data collection and protection, such as privacy impact assessments
- Provide support in responding to privacy incidents and breaches
- Manage all privacy activities such as PIA-DPIA in Data Privacy software
- Provide support in the maintenance of the records retention schedule

Other qualifications include:
- Post-secondary education in Information Studies, Information Security, Business Administration, Law, or a related field of study
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge of privacy legislation and regulations in Canada
- Familiar with privacy software
- A high level of digital literacy, including proficiency with SharePoint and MS Office Suite
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Privacy Certification (CIPP/C, or similar) is considered an asset
- Bilingual in English and French is preferred
- Background in legal (i.e. Paralegal) is preferred
