THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction materials and techniques, as well as experience in estimating and bidding on commercial and residential projects. This role will involve working closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure that estimates are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and other project documentation to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop accurate estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Analyze and interpret construction drawings and specifications to identify potential issues and risks
  • Research and source materials, equipment, and labor costs to ensure accurate estimates
  • Prepare and submit detailed bids and proposals for potential projects
  • Work closely with clients to answer questions, provide additional information, and negotiate pricing as needed
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial and residential projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction estimating software
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment
