What we are looking for:

The Clerk/Receptionist is a valuable member of the team and has a significant impact on the efficient and effective operation of the clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for both clerical and receptionist duties.

Work schedule:

The successful candidate is available to work 8-hour days (08:00-16:00 or 0830-1630) with some evenings and Saturdays as required at the clinic.

Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.



Responsibilities
  • Scheduling clinic appointments for initial consultation and follow-up visits including Diagnostic testing that is required.
  • Greeting patients, answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow-up of telephone reminder appointments to patients as required.
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies.
  • Entering lab orders.
  • Photocopying, filing, scanning.
  • Compiling and/or photocopying reports to send to various outside agencies.
  • Performing special projects as assigned.
  • Ensuring sleep lab and other clinic appointments within CRH are filled.
Requirements
  • Previous medical reception/clerical experience required, in a clinic/outpatient setting.
  • Preferred knowledge of sleep apnea and associated supplies.
  • Knowledge of and/or completion of a medical terminology course.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office tools, Meditech experience required.
  • Previous experience with patient scheduling systems is required.
  • Experience with scheduling diagnostic testing and lab testing.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent public relations and communication skills with a pleasant telephone manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the team.
  • Evidence of good attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
