Due to unprecedented growth, our client is seeking a Project Manager responsible for all aspects of project management including estimating, revenue and cost reporting, project budgets, client relations and managing project team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare quantity take-offs, estimates, reports and presentations using a variety of software options
  • Coordinate requests for quotation from suppliers and subcontractorsPursue alternate proposal opportunities
  • Manage proposal deadlines; coordinate the timely submittal of completed proposals
  • Review completed bids, proposals, with Senior Management
  • Complete the opportunity function in GroundWorks; input client information, updated cost information, etc.

Project Management:

  • Take the lead in transferring estimates to project management level
  • Provide initial construction budgets to project accountant
  • Provide detailed review and evaluation of contract terms
  • Execute projects in accordance with contracts and schedules
  • Manage (performance expectations, constructive feedback, etc) and mentor project management team (project engineers, project coordinator)
  • Provide guidance to project teams to develop, submit, track and enforce project mobilization, quality, safety,
    environmental, staffing and execution plans
  • Coordinate equipment and crew requirements with general superintendent and equipment team
  • Manage labour and equipment requirements on an ongoing basis
  • Accurately track the progress of the work and compare to project budget, notify project accountant of any
    significant deviations along with an explanation for the deviations
  • Provide effective contract change management to identify any scope creep or changes, change conditions, or claim situations that are discovered during the course of the work and notify client, as per contract timeframes, and track and submit all cost and schedule impacts for changes and complete and execute all change orders
  • Ensure procurement and equipment requests are submitted in a timely manner
  • Ensure equipment is utilized for maximum efficiency

Technical:

  • Manage the technical aspects of the project and interface with designers, technical experts and industry specialists
  • Assist with collection and interpretation of technical data
  • Investigate technical alternates and report on feasibility of implementation
  • Educate peers and promote technical excellence at all levels of the project

Finance:

  • Manage revenue forecasting, project budgets and cost reporting and cost control
  • Assist with collection of outstanding payments from clients
  • Ensure profit margins are achieved
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project financials
  • Provide guidance on Accounts Payable activities

Business Development:

  • Represent Company at industry associations and major project partnerships
  • Attend client social activities
  • Present on completed projects to clients or consultants
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with owners, consultants and general contractors

Qualifications :

Education and Experience:

  • P.Eng. certification or equivalent experience and/or education
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in construction industry

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

  • Good understanding of contract preparation
  • Must be capable of responding to rapidly changing situations
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, flexible, adaptable, team player
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight timelines
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
