Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled Welder or Welder Apprentice to join our team at Sunrise Poultry in Lethbridge, AB. As a Welder, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing equipment essential to our operations. Your primary responsibilities will include fabricating, repairing, and installing metal components and structures within our plant. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Fabricate, repair, and install metal components and structures within the poultry production plant.
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to determine welding requirements.
Perform welding tasks using various processes including MIG, TIG, arc, and gas welding.
Select appropriate welding equipment and tools for each task.
Clean, grind, and prepare metal surfaces for welding using hand tools and power tools.
Inspect equipment and structures for defects and perform necessary repairs.
Ensure all welds meet quality and safety standards.
Collaborate with maintenance team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Follow safety procedures and protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
In process of completion / completion of a welding apprenticeship program or relevant certification.
Experience in welding and fabrication is an asset.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials.
Ability to operate welding equipment safely and accurately.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
