Description:

IMAX is looking for an experienced Sr. HRBP to join our global People Partnership team Reporting to the VP People Business Partnerships, the HRBP performs HR related duties at the professional level with responsibilities ranging in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, recruiting partnership, annual budgets, and compensation. This is a hybrid role at our Waterloo office.

What You'll Do:
  1. Act as an internal consultant and HR resource for people leaders and their teams. Respond proactively to the unique needs of the business function and its region.
  2. Support multiple Business Units within the organization, reporting to the VP, HR leader.
  3. Act as the point person for all employees globally; the HRBP will work collaboratively with HR Centre of Expertise (HR COE) as well as Talent Acquisition partners to ensure timely delivery of business solutions within the framework of the global HR strategy.
  4. Collaborate with regional HRBP teams and HR COE partners to support senior leaders in initiatives such as comp planning, leadership development, employee communications, organizational design, change management, technical track and development, and performance management.
  5. Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
  6. Understand overall Business Unit metrics and trends to engage in dialogue with people leaders to enable decisions and drive change.
What You'll Need:
  1. 7+ Years of Human Resource experience in a HR Business Partner or HR Generalist capacity, preferred.
  2. University degree, preferably in business/Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  3. Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
  4. Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation, or government law.
  5. Customer-focused with proven relationship-building strengths and solid experience developing workforce plans based on business goals.
  6. Strong analytic capability to identify and diagnose pressing business challenges, uncover insights to enhance decision-making, and align organizational strategy to talent decisions.
  7. Strong Business Acumen with exceptional Project Management and Change Management Skills.
  8. Previous experience with integration through acquisition would be a plus.
  9. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  10. Comfort and ability to thrive in a high-change, fast-paced environment.
