Piccadilly Seniors Community Salmon Arm BC is looking for an ambassador/screener-greeter to join our amazing and passionate team. This person will work to support the daily operations of the home during the respiratory season.


The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.

JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for welcoming visitors, arranging family visits with Residents,
dealing effectively with calls, emails, and questions, ensuring all individuals coming into the Home meet
the proper policies and procedures, screening individuals, escorting visitors, portering Residents, and
cleaning high touch areas/surfaces’ Promotes and maintains a positive working relationship with
Residents, families, and co-workers.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Greets and welcomes visitors.
· Asks questions as per screening tool and documents appropriately.
· Explains and provides educational resources to visitors on appropriate use of PPE (Personal
Protective Equipment), cough etiquette, hand hygiene.
· Professionally handles incoming calls and emails andfollows up with residents or staff as necessary.
· Answers questions or directs them to the proper person for resolution.
· Ensures visitors and others are wearing appropriate masks and any other PPE needed for being
in/on premises.
· Porters Residents to and from designated areas inside and outside the Home.
· Disinfects all screening tools and other equipment used, including pens, laminated
education materials and greeting areas.
· Escorts visitor to designated visiting area as appropriate.
· May screen other persons (contractors etc.) that are coming into the Home as needed.
· Maintains premises and performs cleaning of touch areas.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
· Attends training and required meetings.

HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible to read, understand and comply with Park Place and provincially mandated
Occupational Health and Safety policies and safe work practices.
· Involved in all aspects of the Health and Safety Program including:
o Uses safe work procedures
o Promotes health and safety policy and awareness
o Makes safety suggestions
o Reads OH&S minutes posted
· Responsible to take every reasonable precaution to protect the safety of Residents, self, other
employees, and the public.
· Reports any near miss, injury and accident or equipment damage to supervisor immediately and
completes required reports.
· Corrects and/or reports unsafe conditions.
· Sets a good example.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Some customer service work experience.
  • Experience working withseniors.
  • 1-2 years experience as an administrative assistant, secretary or receptionist preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, high-energy attitude.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving skill set.
  • Familiarity with office equipment (i.e. printers, fax machines, projectors).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially MS Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Must have proof of two vaccinations of Covid Vaccine.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for no less than 8 hours a day.
· Must be willing to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays may be included.

Physical: Strain on shoulder, neck, and back
Environmental: Draft, dust exposure, working alone situation
Chemical: Equipment cleaners
Biological: Exposure to communicable diseases, i.e., colds, influenza, GI.
