Keewaytinook Okimakanak Board of Education (KOBE) is looking to hire a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to support students requiring speech and language assessments and intervention in the remote First Nations of Deer Lake First Nation, Keewaywin First Nation, Poplar Hill First Nation, Fort Severn First Nation, and North Spirit Lake First Nation. The Speech Language Pathologist will provide direction and guidance to the Communication Disorders Assistant(s). The Speech Language Pathologist will participate as a member of the Speech Language Team in cooperation with KOBE staff, KO First Nation school principals and teachers, students’ families in addressing students’ speech and language needs.
The Speech and Language Pathologist will visit community schools and provide 1:
1 intervention to students and through virtual learning sessions.
Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
Registered and a member in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
Experience in working with school age children
Experience with providing group and individual interventions to children and youth
Able to travel to remote First Nations in small planes
