Job Title: Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Advisor
Adecco is currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Advisor for a prestigious Canadian specialty aerospace and defense company located in Abbotsford, BC. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to ensure our client's adherence to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental protocols, in alignment with company policies, the Canada Labour Code, prescribed Canadian Occupational Safety & Health Regulations (COSH), and environmental legislation.
Job Details:- Pay Rate: $79,500 / year
- Location: Abbotsford, BC

- Monitor compliance throughout the company with health, safety & environment policies and procedures
- Support, advise, and act as a resource for all employees regarding safe work practices
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new safety devices & equipment
- Conduct internal safety audits and recommend corrective actions
- Review all first aid occurrences and investigate accordingly
- Act as safety trainer for specified programs
- Ensure OH&S accident and incident investigations are conducted appropriately
- Support monthly joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee meetings
- Monitor all hazard observations and maintain records
- Assist with the hazardous materials management program
- Ensure adequate facilities and equipment are available to meet first aid requirements
- Liaise with Human Resources regarding employee injuries and WSBC claims
- Assist in auditing safety practices for regulatory compliance
- Perform other duties as required
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalency
- First Aid - Level 2 certification preferred
- 3+ years' experience in manufacturing and/or aviation
- Experience with Transport Canada Approved Safety Management or Department of National Defence Flight Safety System advantageous
- Knowledge of disability management and audit management
- Proficiency in Accident/Incident Investigations and Canadian Health & Safety Regulations (COSH)
- Familiarity with Industrial Hygiene practices
- Thorough understanding of WSBC regulations and procedures
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office Suite)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
