In cooperation with community partners and College staff, this position is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, administering and evaluating a variety of project offerings at CNC . This position is directly responsible for generating sufficient new projects at the College to justify the workload and, in certain instances, responsible for the complete recovery of all related project and administrative costs.
Assess and investigate industry and community needs to identify adult training/educational opportunities and determine activities which the College should pursue.
• Develop project budgets, negotiate budgets with funding partners;
• Ensure the financial viability of all projects, taking into account all direct and indirect costs;
• Research various industry standards and requirements as well as labour market data.
• Establish comprehensive marketing and advertising processes in consultation with CNC Marketing and Communications
• Document project and course objectives and appropriate content, with the required community, faculty and administrative support and resources;
• Perform prescribed tasks of faculty/staff recruitment, training, development and maintenance processes, such as identifying potential faculty through community and faculty processes and consultation, working with community/faculty to identify preferred qualifications, making arrangements with faculty for offered positions; ensuring faculty are informed about administrative processes relevant to their educational activities;
• Communicate with community partners, instructors and students regarding project and course changes such as dates, times, locations, promotional activities, budgets, cancellation policies and decisions and other administrative issues arising;
• Initiate and facilitate collaborative group work in the community and the College, often with groups where no previous relationship exists, and where the reputation of the College’s work is at stake;
• Attend internal and external meetings, communicate with internal and external partners, advise internal and external partners on vision, direction and opportunities as well as internal and external policies and procedures affecting the work;
• You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.
• You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
• Recognized two (2 ) year diploma in in business management or relevant field of study. Preference given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree.
• 3 years or more in adult education, program management, and training coordination; Demonstrated understanding of adult education philosophy;
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage all resources for project completion;
• Proven experience working with industry / business / community partners in education/training;
• Working knowledge of training needs assessment processes and development;
• Working knowledge of industry, business and community resources;
• Ability to work with continuous interruptions and to coordinate activities within the work of the unit;
• Ability to motivate others to maintain quality services in a constantly changing environment;
• Proven ability to maintain positive working relationships (internally and externally) in an extremely demanding environment, to work with tact and diplomacy, and to be persuasive about the abilities of the College to meet community and industry needs;
• Must have a valid driver’s license. 69 per hour
