Crestron Programmer

PURPOSE

Our client in the education space within Mississauga is seeking a specialized developer to help support the full range of technologies that this institution utilizes in classrooms, conference rooms, seminar rooms, and other similar facilities so that faculty, staff, and students have a full range of appropriate technologies to facilitate and support teaching, learning, and other academic and administrative activities. The institute seeks to create a standardized experience so their clients can learn how to operate the technology. In support of this goal, they are currently looking for a programmer who can support their classroom experience by maintaining and updating existing code & GUIs and creating new code as required .

SCOPE OF WORK

The successful proponent would provide a candidate who would be responsible for the following:

• Troubleshooting Crestron programming issues
• Providing assessment and recommendations to modernize the institution’s current code base and coding standards
• Providing new uncompiled and compiled projects including, but not limited to, touch panel layouts, Crestron SIMPL & SIMPL+ modules, etc.
• Providing updates to existing code and providing all required updates and backup files to be stored in the central code repository to update or maintain Crestron programming across the campus. Code and touch panel layouts should match current standard GUIs unless otherwise instructed by the Manager, Events & Classroom Experience
• Integrating the code for new functionality as requested
• Quality Assurance testing of new and integrated control code to ensure seamless integration into academic spaces
• Provide input into redesigns of UX for touchpanel GUI to assist user operation
• Establishing Crestron Fusion server access and ensuring new and older code have both Fusion and RoomView blocks
• Creating standalone XPanels and updating existing standalone panels as required by program or GUI changes

Qualifications & Experience

The expectation for this programmer is a minimum certification of Crestron Level 3 with proficiency in augmenting existing code and creating new code while maintaining standard GUI layout . Preference is for a programmer who has previously worked in a higher education environment . Proof of certification will be required.
