Hey

We are hiring a head brewer for our kombucha brewing operation.

We recently started using new equipment, including a 1200L kettle, 2x 1000L brite tanks, and 6x fermentation totes. We work with a local mobile canning partner and keg in house.

Weeks have varying days depending on what's required, with canning usually being early Tuesday mornings. The schedule is flexible, and as a result also requires some flexibility on your end. Hours required range from 15-35 hrs per week. If consistent full time hours are required we can have a discussion on available work and do our best to structure something for you. You'll learn the operations along side our current head brewer.

A flexible person who can help us settle into our production routine, with home or commercial brewing experience is preferred however we are able to provide all the training required. We are hoping to expand our production as well, and hope to have the brewer candidate be a part of that journey with us, and eventually be able to run the brewery like their own kitchen.

We have a high standard for final product, which is the most important metric in measuring your job success. Other responsibilities will include keeping the brewery clean and organized. As such, our head brewer must have a great attention to detail, ability to not only follow but optimize standard operating procedures, and respect the craft of brewing.

After training, you will work relatively independently.

Tasks may include:

  • Brewing large batches of tea
  • Flavouring kombucha
  • Transferring large volumes of liquid
  • Usage of CIP systems and pumps
  • Cleaning of various brewery items
  • Cleaning of kegs
  • Filling kegs
  • Assisting in canning
  • General organization
  • Various cleaning
  • Oxygenating kombucha vats
  • Testing fermentation

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

  • French not required

  • 8 hour shift
