Responsibilities

We are a partnered with a client from the Environmental services space currently seeking for a Financial Analyst/AP role to join their finance department. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for the Accounts Payable/Cash-out process and related functions, including:

  • Invoice processing and recognition
  • Month-end accruals
  • Vendor set-up and reconciliation
  • Payments and A/P reporting
  • Assisting in creating, documenting, and monitoring financial controls, policies, and procedures
  • Supporting General Accounting functions during the month and at month-end
  • Preparing government reporting as required
  • Providing analytical and reporting assistance in various areas supported by the Finance Department
  • Following all Occupational Health & Safety requirements outlined in the Corporation’s Health & Safety Program
  • Performing other related duties as required by the Director of Finance and Controller
  • Expecting to be rotated to accommodate backup requirements and encourage personal growth and development

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a computerized accounting environment.
  • Proficiency with fully integrated ERP Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word and PowerPoint.
  • Availability to work overtime during occasional peak periods.
  • Highly motivated and self-starter.
  • High degree of accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong customer service orientation, organization, and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Government reporting preferred (HST, WSIB, EHT, etc.).
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Collections, and General Accounting activities is a plus.
  • Experience working with different Accounting Systems preferred.
