Why is this role important?
Under the direction of the Manager, Finance Business Partner Services, the Senior Finance Business Partner is a subject matter expert in financial analysis and reporting, providing strategic business partnership to internal clients and providing oversight to the analyst. In addition, the incumbent leads the finance related activities of CIHI’s Strategic Initiatives, and liaises with the Financial Planning and Analysis team, Corporate Reporting unit, the Commitments and Planning department and the Project Management Office, as required.

What you'll do
1. Leads the CIHI’s divisional budget and forecast, working collaboratively with the CIHI teams and the Finance Business Partners. Summarizes and identifies significant variances and related implications from the approved operating plan and budget (including projections) and provides corporate financial insights to support decision making.

2. Leads monthly financial statement analysis process with the Finance Business Team to provide month-end reporting and commentary deck, including financial analysis and reporting offering actionable insights to drive informed business decisions.

3. Provides leadership and guidance to staff. Supervises, coaches, coordinates and monitors work, workload, and performance of staff to ensure quality is maintained and that learning opportunities are provided. Provides input to annual performance management reviews.

4. Leads and coordinates activities related to strategic initiatives and special purpose funding projects. Implements and maintains process documentation and communication of applicable policies and procedures. Reviews the variance explanations prepared by the finance business partners and supports them in the preparation of new internal and external funding proposals and associated agreements.

5. Leads the finance portion of the business case preparation and monthly/ quarterly reporting for the corporate strategic initiatives. Reviews and finalizes the variance explanations prepared by the finance business partners.

6. Leads the project and operational level analytics. Works in collaboration with the Financial Planning and Analysis team and the Finance Business Partners to summarize and identify significant deviations with the budget and leads the preparation of audit lead sheets documentation.

7. Assists the manager in the department's strategic and operational planning processes. Provides support for departmental and/or branch activities, projects or strategic initiatives.

8. Develops and implements communication and learning materials to support the department’s activities, ensuring communication methods are tailored to the topic and audience in question.

9. Leads, reviews or participates, as required, in the ongoing maintenance and major enhancements of the financial accounting/business systems. Evaluates needs, develops and implements the plan related to enhancements and performs quality assurance on work done by others.

10. Completes other ad hoc support and analysis, as required, and works on other CIHI projects as requested.

What you'll bring to the table
• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Commerce is required. Chartered Professional Accountant designation or Master’s in Business Administration is considered an asset.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in financial analysis and reporting
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience with a strong record of successful team engagement
• Ability to successfully handle multiple complex priorities concurrently
• Experience with ERP systems. Knowledge of Unit 4 Business World is an asset.
• Ability to summarize, interpret and synthesize complex information with a corporate perspective and present it in an understandable manner, to support and guide senior management.
• Storytelling and communication skills to convey technical accounting and financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial audiences is required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Power Pivot & Power Query)
• Experience in Power BI, Qlik, Python or other applications that support strong data visualization, dashboard & report development is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset

Pourquoi ce rôle est-il important ?
Sous la direction du gestionnaire, Services de gestion financière, le partenaire-conseil principal en gestion financière agit à titre d’expert en ce qui a trait aux analyses et aux rapports financiers; il fournit des services de gestion stratégique aux clients internes et supervise l’analyste. En outre, il dirige les activités liées aux finances des initiatives stratégiques de l’ICIS et assure la liaison avec l’équipe de la planification et de l’analyse financières, l’équipe des rapports généraux, la Division des engagements et de la planification et le Bureau de gestion de projets, au besoin.

Quelles seront vos responsabilités ?
1. Gérer le budget et les prévisions budgétaires de la division en collaboration avec les équipes de l’ICIS et les partenaires-conseils en gestion financière. Cerner et résumer les écarts importants ainsi que les incidences découlant du budget et plan d’exploitation approuvé (y compris les prévisions) et mettre son expertise des finances de l’organisme au service de la prise de décisions.

2. Diriger le processus d’analyse des états financiers mensuels avec l’équipe de gestion financière afin de fournir une présentation des commentaires et des rapports de fin de mois, notamment des analyses et des rapports financiers contenant de l’information exploitable qui éclaire les décisions de l’organisme.

3. Diriger et orienter le personnel. Superviser, encadrer, coordonner et surveiller le travail, la charge de travail et le rendement du personnel afin de maintenir la qualité et d’offrir des occasions de perfectionnement professionnel. Participer aux évaluations annuelles de rendement.

4. Diriger et coordonner les activités liées aux initiatives stratégiques et aux projets de financement spécial. Assurer la mise en œuvre et la tenue à jour des documents sur les processus ainsi que la communication des politiques et procédures applicables. Passer en revue les explications des écarts préparées par les partenaires-conseils en gestion financière et leur offrir du soutien pour préparer les nouvelles propositions de financement interne et externe ainsi que les ententes connexes.

5. Gérer le volet financier de la préparation des dossiers de décision et des rapports mensuels et trimestriels dans le cadre des initiatives stratégiques de l’ICIS. Passer en revue et finaliser les explications des écarts préparées par les partenaires-conseils en gestion financière.

6. Diriger les analyses effectuées dans le cadre des projets et des activités. Collaborer avec l’équipe de la planification et de l’analyse financières et avec les partenaires-conseils en gestion financière pour déceler et résumer les écarts importants par rapport au budget, et diriger la préparation des feuilles maîtresses.

7. Aider le gestionnaire à effectuer la planification stratégique et opérationnelle de la division. Offrir un soutien pour les activités, les projets et les initiatives stratégiques de la division ou de la direction.

8. Créer et mettre en place des documents de communication et d’apprentissage à l’appui des activités de la division, en adaptant les modes de communication selon le sujet et le public cible.

9. Assurer la direction et le bon déroulement du maintien continu des systèmes financiers, comptables et opérationnels et des améliorations importantes qui y sont apportées ou y participer selon les exigences. Évaluer la qualité du travail des membres de l’équipe, évaluer leurs besoins et mettre en œuvre des plans d’amélioration.

10. Assumer d’autres tâches de soutien et d’analyse et participer à d’autres projets de l’ICIS, au besoin.

Que mettriez-vous à profit ?
• Diplôme universitaire de premier cycle en administration des affaires ou en commerce. Titre de comptable professionnel agréé ou maîtrise en administration des affaires, un atout.
• Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience de la préparation d’analyses et de rapports financiers.
• De 1 à 3 ans d’expérience de la supervision de personnel et expérience manifeste de la motivation d’équipes.
• Capacité à traiter simultanément et efficacement de nombreuses priorités complexes.
• Expérience de l’utilisation de systèmes ERP. Connaissance du logiciel Unit 4 Business World, un atout.
• Capacité à interpréter et à résumer clairement des informations complexes en maintenant une perspective organisationnelle afin d’aider et d’orienter la haute direction.
• Aptitudes pour la narration et la communication afin de transmettre des informations comptables et financières techniques avec clarté et concision à des publics non spécialisés dans les finances.
• Connaissance approfondie du logiciel Microsoft Excel (tableaux croisés dynamiques, Power Pivot et Power Query).
• Expérience de l’utilisation de Power BI, Qlik, Python ou d’autres logiciels permettant de créer de solides visualisations de données, tableaux de bord et rapports, un atout.
• Grand souci du détail et excellentes aptitudes organisationnelles.
• Excellentes aptitudes pour la conceptualisation, l’analyse et la résolution de problèmes.
• Entregent et excellentes aptitudes pour la communication (écrite et verbale).
• Maîtrise de l’anglais essentielle; maîtrise du français, un atout.
