Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at GR Baker Memorial Hospital.
Some services provided the hospital:
• Full Emergency Medical Care
• Laboratory
• Diagnostic Imaging
• Pharmacy
• General Surgery
• Internal Medicine
• Otolaryngology (ENT)
• Community Cancer Care
• Physiotherapy
• Respiratory Therapy
• Environmental Health
• Speech and Language Therapy
• Visiting specialists in Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Ophthalmology
• Video conferencing for consultations with specialists or physicians in other areas.
• Home and Community Care and Home Support Quesnel Quesnel is a small city with big opportunity. It boasts a vibrant, creative and family friendly lifestyle, rich with culture and community spirit. • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
• With a minimum of one (1) year recent experience in an acute mental health setting or an equivalent of experience in other areas of the mental health field. Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to apply clinical and critical thinking.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the health care team, and clients/families.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other care providers to facilitate and enhance inter-agency and interdepartmental problem solving.
• Ability to deal with others effectively, including establishing and maintaining rapport with psychotic and crisis-prone individuals.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mental health and addictions assessment, psychopharmacology, general counselling principles & interview techniques, crisis theory, de-escalation techniques, seclusion and restraint practices, violence management protocols, community resource & social service utilization and Mental Health Act provisions.
• Physical ability to perform duties of position.
• Ability to provide and promote safe and competent patient care.
• Ability to recognize and intervene appropriately in an emergency situation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use an electronic file system for service delivery.
• Ability to proactively and effectively resolve issues impacting on quality and continuity of care.
• Ability to organize work, and to set and adjust priorities in relation to identified risk factors. Who we are
