Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer with 1-2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery to meet production needs. Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints is required for this role.Key Responsibilities:Source and purchase materials, components, and equipment required for manufacturing processes.Review and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure the correct materials and products are ordered.Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms to ensure optimal cost and quality.Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while actively identifying and qualifying new suppliers.Track purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and ensure on-time delivery to meet production deadlines.Assist in resolving any issues related to supply chain, delivery discrepancies, or quality concerns.Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material specifications meet project requirements.Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and coordinating with the warehouse team.Prepare and maintain accurate purchasing records and reports.Qualifications:1-2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.Knowledge of AutoCAD an assetStrong negotiation and communication skills.Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in using purchasing and inventory management software.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of supply chain management principles.Familiarity with materials used in manufacturing processes is an asset.Location:This position is based in Guelph, Ontario.
