Job Description: Technical Project Manager – Retail Technology

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong background in retail technology to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, a PMP certification, and hands-on experience managing complex technical projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, designers, and key stakeholders, to drive the successful delivery of technology solutions tailored to the retail industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end technical projects focused on retail technology, ensuring timely delivery, within scope, and in line with budget.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams (engineering, product, marketing) and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure project success.
  • Lead daily project meetings, track progress, and address potential risks and blockers.
  • Manage and prioritize project requirements, aligning business stakeholders with technical teams to meet project goals.
  • Oversee the delivery of retail technology solutions, ensuring they meet business objectives, customer needs, and industry standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and internal teams, ensuring efficient and clear communication across all project stages.
  • Oversee the testing, deployment, and post-launch support phases, ensuring product quality and high performance.
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve project risks and issues proactively.
  • Provide regular project updates and status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Promote a collaborative, solution-oriented, and innovative team environment, driving continuous improvement in project delivery processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, with a focus on retail technology solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience with retail technologies (e-commerce platforms, POS systems, mobile applications, inventory management, digital signage, etc.).
  • Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle changing priorities.
  • Expertise in project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Microsoft Project.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS and retail technology system integrations
  • Familiarity with SaaS-based retail solutions and omnichannel retail strategies.
  • Experience in customer experience (CX) design and digital transformation in the retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of retail supply chain and inventory management systems.
