Our Division & Communities
Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students from preschool to grade 12.We operate 22 public schools, an online digital school, an alternative campus, and three colony schools . These are located in the towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley , and the communities of Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights, Red Deer Lake, Longview, Millarville and Foothills County .

This community-focused K-6 school serves a student population of 160 and is located in the scenic Rocky Mountain foothills in the town of Diamond Valley, southwest of Calgary, Turner Valley School is known as a well-established and flourishing school community, and the proud home of the Tigers

cultivating quality teaching through differentiated instruction and effective pedagogy within a continuum of supports (universal to individualized)
instructional leadership and staff development based on current research that ensures every student has access to quality teaching and optimum learning experiences
enabling opportunities for members of the school community to develop leadership capacity and to support others in fulfilling their educational roles.
advancing innovative learning opportunities for students through Maker-Centered and Career and Technology Foundations resulting in real world learning experiences for students
establishing home/school communication plans that effectively report progress of student learning and achievement to parents.
Reconciliation and reciprocal relationships to support the application of Foundational Knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit;
developing collaborative relationships with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Cultural Advisors, local leaders and community members within a holistic approach to child development
promoting, leading, and supporting the collaborative work of professional learning communities within the school and across the division
being an advocate for their school community within the framework of Divisional teamwork.
Master’s degree, complete or near completion, in educational leadership or a related field
